Press kit
A skateboarding deckbuilder: cards build real tricks, then you push your luck while the board wobbles.
01
Description
Short
Build real skateboard tricks from cards: an Ollie paired with a Kickflip and two Shove-its fuse into a Tre Flip. Roll each trick into a manual or grind and land the line before bailing. Beat bosses that tape over your stickers to climb the ranks from AM to PRO. A press-your-luck skate deckbuilder.
Long
Grab Your Deck is a press-your-luck skate deckbuilder. Every card is part of a trick: a flip, a shove-it, a spin, a grab, an Ollie for more air. Play them together and they fuse into one trick, named live as you build it. A Kickflip and a Shove-it make a Varial Kickflip. Add another Shove-it and the two fuse into a Tre Flip. Swap the order and it's a different trick.
Doing tricks makes you wobble. Extend your line with a manual or a grind and bank more with every link, while your odds of landing plummet. Plant the landing. Or don't, topple, and land your slam in the zine.
Tour three cities, beat the skate spots on your way to each city's boss, draft new trick cards and stick sponsor stickers under your board that change every scoreline. 31,556 tricks. Can you land them all?

Features
- Cards that make real tricks: every card is a piece of one (flip, shove-it, spin, grab, Ollie), and the trick is named live as you build it.
- 31,556 tricks, and every one of them can be built and landed.
- Push your luck: roll a trick into a manual or a grind and the line banks more with every link, while your odds of landing drop.
- Go legendary: one card of every suit is the Shuffle Flip; grab the nose and the tail at once for the Supergrab; stack shove-its toward 9000°.
- Bosses that come for your board: 13 of them tape over your stickers, flip their order, ban your grinds or give you one shot.
- Three cities and a route that forks: the schoolyard, the riverside docks and downtown, with sessions, contests and a boss in each.
- Over 50 sponsor stickers under your board, and their order, nose to tail, changes how every move scores.
- Climb the ranks from AM to PRO, open sponsors with their own starting decks, and keep skating into endless cities on a Steam leaderboard.
- Every slam is physics: push too far and the rider goes flying, and the slam goes in the zine.
- A skate zine come to life: riso inks, held photos, and a Garage to style your board and hang it on the wall.

History
Grab Your Deck started in the summer of 2026 with one idea: what if every card in a deckbuilder were a piece of a skateboard trick?
I love deckbuilders. Full stop. I build too many of them (I have a project called "game design graveyard"), and GYD is one of those. I used to skateboard as a teen - never great, but enough to make my parents worry if it was just a phase (it was). I still longboard around the neighborhood with my kids, but I'd be like the bail videos if I tried any tricks today. The idea of "tricks as math" really appealed to me - combining a kickflip and a shove-it is a varial kickflip - the cards just make it playable that way.
The first build asked two questions. Does pushing your luck near the edge make you hesitate before you land? And can different decks win in different ways? The answers grew into a three-city tour, 31,556 tricks and a lot of slams.
Grab Your Deck is made by one developer, Kyle Arch, in the Godot engine.
